Instructions for Authors

  1. Scope and Focus:

    • NATURALISTA CAMPANO publishes original research articles, theoretical insights, empirical studies, methodological advancements, and case analyses in natural sciences, ecology, environmental studies, biodiversity, and related interdisciplinary areas.
    • Manuscripts should be innovative, scientifically rigorous, and relevant to the journal's scope.
  2. Manuscript Preparation:

    • Authors should format their manuscripts according to the journal's guidelines, including font, spacing, margins, and citation style.
    • Manuscripts should be written in English and prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
    • Include a title page with the title of the manuscript, author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), contact information, abstract (maximum 250 words), and keywords (5-7 keywords or phrases).
    • Use the IMRAD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion) for research articles.
    • Ensure all figures, tables, and equations are properly formatted and labeled.
  3. Originality and Ethics:

    • Submissions must represent original work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
    • Authors should avoid plagiarism and properly cite all sources used in the manuscript.
    • Ethical considerations, such as obtaining informed consent and ethical approval for studies involving human subjects or animals, should be addressed.
  4. Submission Process:

    • Manuscripts should be submitted electronically via email to the editor-in-chief at editor@museonaturalistico.it.
    • Use "Submission: [Manuscript Title]" as the subject line of the email.
    • Attach the manuscript, along with any supplementary materials, to the email.
    • Include a cover letter in the body of the email, briefly introducing the manuscript and providing any additional information relevant to the submission.
  5. Peer Review Process:

    • NATURALISTA CAMPANO employs a double-blind peer review process to evaluate submitted manuscripts.
    • Authors can expect feedback from independent reviewers on the quality, originality, and significance of their work.
    • Reviewers' identities are not disclosed to the authors, and vice versa, to ensure impartial evaluation.
  6. Copyright and Licensing:

    • Authors retain copyright of their published work and grant NATURALISTA CAMPANO the right to publish and distribute the manuscript under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY).
    • Upon acceptance, authors will be asked to sign a License Agreement granting these rights to the journal.
