Abstract

This research paper studies the role of polymorphic markers AluIns/DelI>D of ACE gene, Leu28Pro of APOE gene and T-786C of ENOS3 gene on the development of diabetic nephropathy. 129 patients with type 2 diabetes (main group) and 110 healthy subjects (control group) were included in the study. 65 patients with disease duration up to 10 years, without diabetic nephropathy (33 patients, group one) and with diabetic nephropathy (32 patients, group two), 64 patients with diabetes lasting more than 10-20 years, without diabetic nephropathy (31 patients, group three) and with diabetic nephropathy (33 patients, group four). Genotyping was performed by polymerase chain reaction method. The study showed that the association of allele D and genotype DD of ACE gene, allele Pro and genotype Leu/Pro of APOE gene and C-allele genotype CC of ENOS3 gene play a significant role in the development of diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the studied Uzbek nation.
