Abstract

This study aims to prepare polymeric nanoparticles using PLGA. A double emulsion solvent evaporation method was used to formulate the nanoparticles using Pluronic F127 as the surfactant. In order to encapsulate the hydrophobic drug Docetaxel, a variety of formulations were designed and tested in terms of particle size, zeta potential, polydispersity index, entrapment efficiency, and drug loading. Scanning electron microscopy was used to observe morphology of the formulations. MTT assay was used to determine whether nanoparticles are more cytotoxic than free drugs. It was shown that nanoparticles performed better than free drugs in terms of cytotoxicity as a result of Successful fabrication of the nanoparticles.
